Douglas Spencer OAM (LLB Syd. Uni)

PRINCIPAL / DIRECTOR

Accredited Specialist in Business Law

Doug was admitted as a solicitor in 1970. He then went to Papua New Guinea in 1971 where he worked as a lawyer for several years. He joined Miller Noyce & Doust in November 1973 and became a partner in 1976. Since that time he has handled matters in most areas of law with a particular focus on business, commercial, property, deceased estates and estate planning matters. Doug was in the first group of solicitors in this State to be accepted (in 1993) as an Accredited Specialist in Business Law and has been re-accredited every year since.

Over the years, Doug has handled a wide range of legal matters for many people in many circumstances. He has extensive experience in acting for "people” in most areas of the law, whether it is in relation to their personal lives or in respect to their business and commercial affairs. This extends from assisting people in buying and selling their homes and preparing Wills, Powers of Attorney and handling estates for them to advising and assisting on the sale, purchase and restructure of businesses and in acting for them in difficult commercial litigation in all jurisdictions. Doug also has extensive experience in advising people on estate planning and the re-structuring of their business and commercial affairs.

Graham Limburg (LLB)

SOLICITOR

Graham operated his own practice at Thornleigh for 17 years. In 2007, he amalgamated his practice with Miller Noyce to ensure that his many clients were well looked after and cared for when he chose to retire in 2012. We continue to look after many of Graham’s longstanding clients and maintain a strong bond and association with him.

Ken Barnes (LLB)

SOLICITOR

Ken joined us in 2012 as a very well-known and experienced solicitor, particularly in handling difficult family law parenting and property matters. Ken brought a wealth of general experience and a loyal following of clients whom he looked after for many years. Over recent years, Ken has been “winding down” and is now finalising his remaining matters. Nevertheless, the firm will maintain a strong association with Ken to ensure that we are able to look after his clients, if and when required. We have also developed a strong association with other practitioners experienced in family law and can refer clients to them as necessary.

Our Staff

Many of our staff have been employed with the firm for many years and have gained experience in a wide range of legal matters in that time. Over six members of our staff have each been employed by the firm for over 15 years. In fact, our eleven staff have in total 189 years of service with the firm. This must be some sort of record.
